Fully Funded PhD positions are open in my research group at CQuERE, TCG CREST (Deemed to be University), Kolkata. This is a unique opportunity to work at the interface of foundational theory and translational, application-driven research.

Looking for candidates with:
Strong background in quantum mechanics and linear algebra
Training in computational physics, computer science, applied mathematics, or related areas
Solid programming skills (Python preferred) and interest in large-scale numerical work
Comfortable and proactive in using modern AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, etc.) to accelerate research, coding, and literature workflows

 

You will be developing novel algorithms and numerical tools to tackle challenging problems in quantum algorithms, quantum chemistry, and large-scale quantum many-body simulations, with potential scope for industry collaboration.

Postdoc positions

Rolling applications: appointment subject to strong research alignment.

Fully Funded Postdoctoral position is available in my research group at CQuERE, TCG CREST (Deemed to be University), Kolkata. The role targets researchers who can lead projects independently and help shape the group’s direction at the interface of foundational theory and translational, application-driven research.

Looking for candidates with: a PhD in physics/CS/math/chemistry (or related); demonstrated research output in relevant areas; strong programming (Python/Julia/C++), numerical methods, and HPC experience (preferred); and the ability to use modern AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT/Claude/Copilot) in a thoughtful, evidence-driven way to accelerate research workflows.

 

You will develop novel algorithms and numerical tools for quantum algorithms, quantum chemistry, and quantum many-body simulation, with scope for collaboration.

Short term Project positions

Rolling applications; selection subject to strong research alignment. These positions are currently self-funded (no stipend available).

 

Master’s short-term project opportunities (6 months–1 year) are available in my research group at CQuERE, TCG CREST (Deemed to be University), Kolkata.

 

Project themes:

  • Noise Modelling and Error Mitigation

  • Hybrid Quantum–HPC Algorithms

  • Tensor Networks

 

Who should apply: Ongoing Master’s students in Physics/CS/Math/EE/Chemistry (or related) with good QM + linear algebra, Python programming, and interest in numerical work; comfortable using AI tools in a thoughtful, evidence-driven way.

Outcome: a well-defined deliverable (code + report; potentially a preprint/extended report depending on progress).
